Board certified in general pediatrics, pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Syed Hamid has particular research interest in rectal and gastric barostat and human colonic, antro-duodenal and esophageal manometry. He has presented to health organizations and associations including the American Gastroenterological Association. His professional activities include membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Gastroenterology Association.

Dr. Hamid received his medical degree from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi in Pakistan. He completed internships in general surgery and internal medicine at Civil Hospital in Karachi, and a residency in pediatrics at Lincoln Medical Center, New York Medical College in New York. Dr. Hamid completed a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.
