Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Valeriano Simbre joined Valley Children’s Willson Heart Center in February 2004 as a pediatric cardiologist.

Dr. Simbre has published in peer-reviewed journals such as Current Treatment Options in Cardiovascular Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Pediatric Research. His research focused on areas of pediatric cardiology including cardiotoxicity and myocardial injury in children and newborns. Specifi cally, his areas of interest include cardiotoxicity induced by cancer chemotherapeutic agents and characterization of serum biochemical markers of myocardial injury in neonates.

Dr. Simbre has given lectures and presentations on myocardial injury to professional societies. He belongs to several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American College of Cardiology.

His professional experience includes having served as an emergency room physician at Paranaque Medical Center in the Philippines.

Dr. Simbre received his medical degree from Far Eastern University in the Philippines, and he was an academic scholar. He completed his internship at Far Eastern University and his residency in pediatrics at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania. Dr. Simbre did a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Stanford University and the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York.

He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and family.
