The gastroenterology department at Valley Children’s specializes in the diagnosis and management of infants, children, and adolescents with gastrointestinal and nutrition disorders. The department offers focused programs for many gastrointestinal conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, motility disorders, esophageal reflux, gastritis, gastrointestinal bleeding, esophagitis and unspecified abdominal pain.
We provide comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment plans and extensive education to help children and their families manage gastrointestinal conditions and improve symptoms. Our expert team of pediatric gastroenterologists performs rare medical procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatography (ERCP) to examine gallbladder, pancreas and liver ducts. We also conduct advanced motility testing and offer clinics dedicated to inflammatory bowel disease and obesity.
Our multidisciplinary team also includes nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, child life specialists, social workers and psychologists. This approach enables us to deliver the highest level of individualized care to diagnose and treat even the most difficult conditions. The department sees more than 17,000 outpatient visits a year at locations throughout Central California to provide care to children and families close to their homes.
