    Fevers

Fevers in children can often be alarming for parents. Whether they’re caused by a virus, bacteria or some other issue, fevers are a sign that the body is fighting off some type of infection. When your child has a fever, it’s important to watch it closely and know when to call your pediatrician or seek emergency medical help. To help ease the discomfort of a fever at home, you can give your child a lukewarm bath, dress them in light clothes and encourage them to drink plenty of liquids.

If you notice your child has a fever and have questions about what to do, we encourage you to call your Valley Children’s pediatrician. You can also consult these helpful online resources for more information about fever in children.
