Why did you choose Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program?
I did a rotation at Valley Children’s during my fourth year of medical school and I felt the friendly atmosphere immediately. There was immense support from the staff and residents, which made it clear to me that this was an environment in which I could safely learn and grow as a young professional. Also, I was impressed with Valley Children’s community outreach efforts and the impact I would be able to have as a resident. Overall, my goals aligned closely to Valley Children’s mission and I am excited for the learning that is to come during my time here.

Hobbies: Dancing, crafting/knitting projects, going on daily walks, reading, indulging in ice cream, watching reality TV with friends

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments: I worked in a lifestyle medicine clinic prior to attending medical school and this spurred an interest in lifestyle medicine and preventative medicine. I also have a strong interest in public health and hope to use the skills I gained through my MPH degree to improve the wellbeing of communities. So far, I have conducted a mini teen health assessment in a county in Oregon state and developed a personalized sexual education course for the community. I hope to do more projects like this in the future!

Care Philosophy: I believe good healthcare involves taking a holistic and collaborative approach. I hope to develop a trusting and inclusive relationship with my patients so we can work together to achieve each individual’s health goals. I also hope to have fun in the process because your job should be fun!
