Why did you choose Valley Children's Pediatric Residency Program?
One of the most important things I was looking for in a program was a sense of community, both in the people that I would care for and within the training itself. Valley Children’s emphasis on advocacy and the collaborative, supportive environment of the hospital really resonated with me. As a California native, being able to come back to my home state is just the cherry on top!

Hobbies: I love all types of workouts (strength training, spin, gymnastics, aerial classes, bouldering, hiking), watching episodes of The Great British Baking show, baking yummy treats for friends and family, and relaxing with a good book.

Advocacy and Research Interests and Accomplishments: I enjoy working with programs that provide educational opportunities to children. I created interactive presentations to get kids involved in STEM in Marin-Sonoma county. During medical school, I organized physical fitness and medical education activities for children in Barbados. During the pandemic, I designed and facilitated drive-through vaccination clinics for a local pediatric office. In addition, I have extensive research experience in marine biology, specifically studying techniques for preventing bleaching of coral reefs.

Care Philosophy: I believe in establishing open communication with families in order to provide care that encompasses overall health and wellbeing. To me, this starts with encouraging children to take responsibility for their health, and continues with educating, teaching and reinforcing healthy habits that will continue into adulthood.
